late fall through mid-december...

a long overdue post, but one filled with so much goodness and so many adventures…it's been an awesome fall for you two!  i mean look at you guys...
i'm loving these photos from halloween of the tiger...
and the bee...
on the move...
and the wagon trick-or-treating posse from our neighborhood...
this fall brought lots of raking...
and burying popsie in the pile...
and nana, too...
we went to sugarloaf and fit four babies in a basket...
we wear lots of girl jammies around these parts...
i love everything about this picture...
it's been so warm that we've been able to get out for lots of great walks...
you visited little john preserve with deedee...
and hiked with dad and hobbes...
did silly sticker on the nose play...
have been riding cars around the lawn...
we've been wearing vests and no gloves in december...
we made a new trail that goes down to a phenomenal beach...
we visited the sandy point ramp...
and collected shells...
after school you both like to help with washing out your lunch boxes and water bottles...
our dear friend, christina wnek, came over and took gorgeous photos of the two of you.  maeve, you loved showing christina your big girl bed...
jumping on our bed...
and showing off your christmas lights...
she captured you two having a snack...
she captured our christmas card photo...
and we had some good fun playing with the wagon...
back to back...
and getting a free ride...

we went to rockport for thanksgiving and got to spend time with cousin eve...
played hide and seek with nana and popsie...
watched the waves...
hangout with popsie...
and visited the little house in the woods...
we went on to new harbor for thanksgiving #2.  we watched uncle evan and papaw with the boom truck...
baked blueberry muffins..
went on snuggly hikes with deedee...
did more cooking and baking..
and jasper, you are a real yogi...
i mean look at that form...
jasper, you are really into trying on our shoes...
all. the. time...
you got a new haircut, proudly displayed here...
went to frontier cafe...
nibbled on icy pops when you had a fever...
collected things at seaglass beach...
including this awesome treasure...
maeve, this chunk of time has been wild to see you learning so much.  here you are showing me where dad was on his recent trip...
we went hiking at sugarloaf...
pretended to be a nerd...
went to the beach a lot...
see...
did some birthday dancing...
and showed with one hand how old you just were, and with the other how old you are now...
went to lunch and to see the caps for sale show with dad in portland...
did trampoline time (which was the best because it combined a pile of leaves and a trampoline)...
we did lots of outside play with the warm days...
drank from a pineapple...
went to a gingerbread house decorating party with friends...
and made this amazing piece of artwork (i just love how proud you are!)...
we visited the eastern prom...
took semi-serious photos...
hung out in an amazon prime box...
and our most exciting moment this fall was when harriet the owl from school came home for the weekend in your school bag.  when you found her you shrieked and squeezed her and just kept saying her name over and over.  she comes home with someone who has been a good listener and good friend during the week at school.  we had a fun weekend with harriet.  you showed her around the house...
took her on lots of walks..
brought her to seaglass beach...
and read and re-read harriet's journal.  we wrote an entry about her time with our family...

and now i'll share a few videos from the month.  we ordered our diapers and wipes and when the box came the two of you played for hours moving them, throwing them, climbing in the boxes, and being silly.  this reminds me of a bunch of worker bees...

oh hello...

watching you two play together and communicate is such a joy.  i'm amazed at how many things are happening for both of you--so many changes, so much learning, new words, new games, routines, demands, experiments, and adventures.  i'm loving how much you both love books, something that has filled so much of our time this fall.

the growing length of time between posts indicates how much has been going on for us--it's busy and wonderful.  you two are the heart and the humor and the force in my life.  big hugs. big love.  xo.
