Just over two and 9 months...

this photo just feels like now, especially the popsicles in the periphery.  it's been a busy and wonderful month with all kinds of festive silliness and matching jammies...
 and team tub time...
while many of the photos in this post are blurry, dark, etc…they really capture where we are, what we've been up to, and life in our world...
 exhibit a...
ok here we go...jasper man, you're awesome.  you are a snuggler until you are ready for bed…and then you just want to be put down.  and we don't do that much time in the carrier because you guys are so heavy, but this month i got some extra snuggles...
this month you love pulling hair...
 saddling up to the bar...
 playing with/eating blocks...
 chomping on pufferbellies...
 wearing skinny jeans...
making art at school and having a green toenail for weeks...
and looking adorable...
jazzy bear, here are a few things that i want to remember about this month.  you've begun sleeping through the night (not reliably, but sometimes), you love being close to maeve and get all giggly, you really love food but struggle a little with texture, your patience and sweet demeanor when you had a bad fever and ear infection, you love standing up, how much you love doing call and answer, you've started having separation anxiety, duplo time, your sweet blond hair and those few extra long wispy ones, how strong you are when you don't want to go in your car seat, how you get places without really being able to crawl (?!), and how food and drink really changed at the end of december (major interest in food, but not really drink much at all).

miss maeve at just over two years you are a god damn hoot.  this month you loved your time at sugarloaf...
the highlight of which was going sledding with your dee-dee...
and then playing queen of the mountain...
while at sugarloaf you nibbled on a pretzel just like your papaw...
i didn't think we'd still have the plasma car out, but you bundled up until the bitter end and hit the road...
and speaking of bundling up, most days you don't mind it.  but sometimes winter clothes make you a little irritated...
but other times you like getting dressed up in my gear...
and this picture goes down as a favorite.  you were out for a walk at madeleine point in your winter get-up and just strutting it up...
your artwork this month was off the hook.  i mean look at your abstract reindeer (far right)...
and you did some drawings and delivered them to neighbors…
i converted a cabinet into a play kitchen and constructed a little oven.  you love it...
i think you love it mostly because you can drink as much pretend milk as you want...
you've been building tall duplo structures this month.  when you complete them you ask me to take your picture next to your creation...
you've also been building lots with your wooden blocks...
and your train tracks…
this was the month of: toast and jelly.  savor it girl...
 trying on sample glasses...
studying your placemat (you can point to maine, new york, new jersey, maryland, florida, washington, texas, california, indiana, colorado, nevada, arizona, mexico, michigan, and rhodie!)...
and looking at your photo album from when you were a baby.  you call it your "big night night book" because there is a close-up photo of you in it with a big old pacifier…
and you are really into us making a tent between the two living room chairs...
we had lots of adventures this month.  we had a visit from alice...
maeve, you and mylah got together to hang out and were dressed almost exactly the same (cool shoes, hippy socks, stripped jammies, stripped gloves, patagonia hats, and awesome hair!)...
we spent christmas eve with lila and caroline.  maeve you loved being with the girls and ran right in to play with them.  you loved playing corn hole and afterwards kept saying "i did beanbags!"...
and we've logged lots of time on the west side trail...
maeve, a few things i want to remember about this month include: you and alice gibbons running around the house like crazy people, the martelle's moving in across the street, how many times we sang "the wheels on the bus" this month, when we asked if you knew about frozen and you said "yeah…frozen peas!", how much you love santa's boots outside of daycare, how you call the song london bridge "london bridge is falling off", you and jax playing chase at dee-dee's holiday party, your love of the christmas tree/lights and our wreath, your curiosity about anatomy, when you use the iphone box and pretend it is your phone, when we play ponytail and big hair, dancing to pharrell's "happy" which you call the alligator song, spinning until you are to dizzy to stand, and when you have lots of energy and start running around and announce "i'm being silly…i'm going crazy!!!"

this month's videos are simple and perfection.  first, jasper standing up...

and second, maeve and the magic of bubble wrap...

i had two weeks off to be with you two this month and while it was exhausting at times, it was a real gift to get to just be together.  the best gift of the season.  and speaking of season, we are deep in winter and i'm daydreaming about walks to the beach after dinner in the summer.  not wishing away time, but i need a little more natural light:)  you two sunbeams have truly kept me going this winter. xo!
