at fourteen months...

hello friends!  here we are at fourteen months.  having fun, taking steps, eating lots, making lots of animal sounds, and talking some.  we'll start with a few photos from the holidays.  christmas morning diaper change nudey photo...
christmas elf shoes...

playing with your new xylophone and wearing your new skirt from mexicali...
playing with hobbes while opening presents...
enjoying your new magnets--thanks nana and popsie...
during the vacation, we used the time off to work on your new bedroom, which you will move into in march.  here is just a sneak peek...
and you love sitting at your table, tasting crayons, and occasionally putting crayon to paper...
we play a lot in your upstairs bedroom nook, half of which is play space and the other half of which contains big rubbermaid containers of your clothes, gear, and diapers.  so we end up playing with the bins sometimes, too.  on this day we were trying on some items in the next bin.  your patagonia vest finally fits...
and your fuzzy jacket is still a little big.  i don't know if we can let you and dad go to patagonia unsupervised.  so many jackets!
see...someday you and dad will be all matchy-matchy...
here you are modeling some other hand-me-downs that we need to grow into...
the vest you are wearing was dad's when he was little...
you love this hat...
see...

and you tried on this headband from emily's bachelorette party.  you are ready for spandex and neon...
during vacation we had some visitors, including uncle evan and shawna.  they got you out of bed on new year's day and look at you so sleepy and not ready to give up the pacifier...
this week you moved into your new carseat and dad snapped this shot of your hair...hello static...
and the last few weeks have been filled with so much playing.  dishes, food, books, remotes, magazines, water, and instruments...
yum...
bottoms up...
here you are making the ee-ee-ooo-oooo monkey sound...

hello?
and some snuggling after bath time play...
and we've done lots of food play, too...
drinking from a big girl glass...
eating, eating, and more eating...
giving dad the look at flatbread...
cause you knew what you wanted.  sweet potato, goat cheese, balsamic pizza...
high chair ninja...

orange (well clementine) lady...
eating with your pal ross...
you are doing so well trying new things, using your hands, trying the spoon, and getting messy...
and you figured out that hobbes eats what you drop.  oh dear...
and based on his location, hobbes also gets what you throw up.  poor hobbes...
and this is the sweetest picture because it captures how big you've been trying to smile.  you get really happy and smile until you can't smile any wider...
we went to frontier cafe {our favorite} on saturday for lunch and you loved it, too.  you nibbled on fish, beets, mango, and a french fry...oh you devoured it all.  you finished off with a lemon...

maeve d. fourteen months is crazy.  first off, you know so many things.  you are learning so fast.  one day (actually for months) you were playing at the bottom of the stairs.  the next day you climbed the entire flight of stairs.  take a look...

you say so many things.  you continue to be so happy and sweet.  you love giving snuggles.  you love reading books.  you love animals and animal sounds.  you love visitors.  and when i ask you where my belly is you pat my growing bump.

there have been so many times when we've almost opened the envelope to find out if you are going to have a sister or a brother...but we've resisted.  oh maeve, either way this little being is so lucky to have you...as are we.

having over two weeks off with you during the holiday was the best gift i could have ever received.  i loved our homey, cozy days just being together.  here's to some warmer temps to we can get back outside to play in all this snow!  big snuggles to you, miss maeve.
