at forty five weeks...

oh miss maeve.  this week was filled with so much laughter.  at forty five weeks you were really into all the friends that you saw, with squeals and giggling and smiles.  you are so playful and happy.  and you were a rolling machine.  you have been trying to push yourself up on all fours and without crawling you manage to get yourself wherever it is you want to go.

at forty five weeks you got a little cold, but still managed to be in great spirits.  no drippy nose can slow you down.  girl, you are moving.  we spent lots of time playing on the floor in your room.  i love to just set you up with some toys, grab a pillow and lay on the floor, and watch you do your thing.  sometimes your thing is getting wedged under your crib or banging on your baseboards...but lady, you sure do have a good time.

at forty five weeks you spent some time with kili...
you took lots of long walks...
you spent lots of time with uncle ben, whom you love hanging out with...
and you got some quality time with aunt emily, yay!!!
you wore your striped sweater often (thanks grandma!)...
you hopped in the laundry basket for a ride upstairs to help me pull out and sort your fall clothes...
you played cinderella with isabelle and jo, as they helped you try on a bunch of different shoes to see if any fit yet...
you practiced standing a lot.  you don't pull yourself up in your crib yet, but we help you up and give you time to practice each day...
we opened the blocks that you got for christmas and you loved playing with them...
at the grocery store this week you spent the whole time shaking a box of annie's as we made our way through the aisles.  a woman after my own heart...
at forty five weeks, daycare felt a lot like fall.  you and august went on a nice stroll...
went to visit a neighbor and her pumpkins...
played pumpkin patch kids...
and posed with your buddy wilder...
this photo came through with the caption "where in the world is maeve?"--a mini carmen san diego...
and you spent lots of time outside...
we took a nice long walk with august and rachael this weekend.  it was the first day of fall, but on that day it felt like summer.

this week was one with lots of love.  one where your face just lit up anytime someone you knew walked in the room.  one where you got time to be with grandma.  one where you let me hold you until you fell asleep, which is something you are usually too wiggly for.  one where it was hard to drive without wanting to constantly look in the rearview mirror and see your reflection bouncing back.  one where i could feel how my love for you grows exponentially.

a friend send me a text this weekend and admitted that when she's having a crummy day she looks at your photos on instragram to cheer up.  and uncle ben said that he just comes over to see you...not me and dad anymore.  you are so popular.

at forty five weeks, i went to the commonground fair with emily, while you had a day with grandma.  it was really special and we had a wonderful day being together.  it reminded me of when i went to the fair last fall with christina when i was pregnant with you and we took a tintype photo to remember the day that us two pregnant ladies hit the fair.  this year, i was determined to take another tintype with emily, who is also pregnant.  we found the booth and as we were posing, the man behind the camera said "i took your picture last year, didn't i?...and you were pregnant!" and now i have my two pregnancy tintypes on the bookshelf.  i love looking at the first photo now and knowing that it was you in there...but miss maeve, who is the little one in there in this years photo? ahhh time will tell.

a high five for you little maeve.  thanks for a fun week baby girl.  xo.

at forty four weeks...

at forty four weeks we are finally ready to share some news.  in mid-to-late march we'll be welcoming a new little one into our home.  we are so very very excited.  when maeve saw the photo she tried to eat it, which seems positive!
and speaking of babies, we celebrated oliver's first birthday this week.  this photo was taken by heather.  you, me, and my [pumping] buddies from work and their sweet littles...
you enjoyed hanging out with lydia on a beautiful day...
at forty four weeks you had a great time at daycare.  you went to visit a neighbor in an old fashioned stroller...
you and august played some tunes...
you and the boys did some excavation...
peek-a-boo...
at forty four weeks you wanted to be a part of the action, with prime seating.  so you spent lots of time in your chair at the counter.  you read the circulars...
took control of the spoon...
looked adorable in your little beanie...
and rocked your awesome bib...
at forty four weeks you spent lots of time on the floor playing.  you continued pulling yourself up on things.  what a strong lady...
you and that tongue, always working on something...

a little sleepy before school, but as stylish as ever...

ready to party...
hanging out under the coffee table...
trying out a new look...
on sunday we went in your room and just hung out on the floor.  without actually crawling, you worked your way around the whole room, cleared off the bottom shelf of your bookcase, tipped over your diaper pail, and had a blast rolling around...

you spent some time playing around with uncle mike in the backyard...
and at forty four weeks, dad finally captured the picture i've been trying to get of you and hobbes for months.  i just love this...

miss maeve this week has been filled with you trying out lots of sounds and noises.  i could listen to you babble on and on.  i think you are trying to make a woof or bark sound in response to hearing hobbes, but i'm not 100%.  and speaking of hobbes, he got sick this week and you and grandma took him to the vet to help him get better.  he was so lethargic and all he wanted to do was sleep in your book nook...he loves it in there.  he's better now after your loving care.

at forty four weeks i'm feeling overwhelmed with gratitude and love.  and you my dear, you are so squeezable, the root of so much of that joy.  your love and presence has transformed us and is was what made us want another little kiddo.  i'm giddy, just like you...you are always laughing, miss maeve.

at forty three weeks...

at forty three weeks the photo above sums it all up.  you and i were sorting your next batch of clothes and i put you in the clothes bin...
when i took you out and sat you on my lap you grabbed the edge of the bin and pulled yourself up to stand...you know like you do that or something!  then i put you on the floors and bam, again...you pulled up to stand.  you were so incredibly proud, as the photo shows.  and then you began sorting clothes...
and once we got into clothes sorting mode we decided to try on your halloween costume. at forty three weeks you are the cutest fleece dragon there ever was...
we went for a bunch of walks this week and it felt like fall.  i loved being bundled up juuuust enough and putting you in cute fuzzy things. if you start to outgrow your dragon costume, well then I've decided we'll just wear it on our walks.  but for now, we just have you wearing your hoodie...

or the adorable coat that amelia let you borrow...

and while it felt like fall for most of the week, it was summer summer summer for the America's cup party that you and dad threw.  check it out...

you loved your captain's hat, which means you are most certainly your father's daughter.  dad used to wear his captain's hat in kindergarten and he kept a carrot in there for a snack.  true story.
at forty three weeks you had lots of daycare fun.  you and timmy thomas appreciated each others' stripes...
you focused on this toy and a rogue cheerio...

you got up close and personal with the critters at smiling hill farm...
you got your regular exercise in the jumper...

and then you and august made rachael do all the work as you went for a stroll...

at forty three weeks, we went back to school/new job shopping with dad and you rode on my back for the first time...

you loved pulling on my hair and checking yourself out in the full length mirrors. and speaking of checking it out...look at you working on your moves with dad...
all that activity means you are gobbling up food faster than we can make it and this week you are officially done nursing.  ready for snacks...

all that eating means that sometimes you take it a bit more than you can handle, which means we took some extra baths this week.  oh maeve d/mrs. splashypants...
at forty three weeks we started it off right with labor day...we took two long naps together which was such a nice way to start the week.  this week marked lots of new sounds and lots of da-das.  in fact it was the week of da-da!  dad had this week off between his old job and his new job.  he spent his time doing projects on the house in your bedroom and the upstairs bathroom...and cuddling with you! and you continue to be a good sleeper.  you wake dad up just once in the night to give you a bottle between 2 and 4.  maeve, i think you might be making dad into more of a morning person than he ever thought possible.  nice work.

i'm a little late with this week's post (sorry!), however as a result i can tell you with certainty that your forty fourth week is filled to the brim with of all the good things in life.  xo.
