at thirty five weeks...

hello maeve/cookie monster.  this week brought lots of new hair, another tooth, waking up saying da-da over and over again each morning, and your first weekend with us both away.  you did so well...it was a week of good fun.

you had two wonderful days with rachael, wilder, and august.  you went to the library...
and you contemplated checking this book out in anticipation of your weekend...
i got a silly video of you two chubby bunnies.  you were giggling and laughing so hard...
you and august have been playing lots...
always side by side...
but sometimes you get a little freaked out by his generous love, see exhibit a...
but it's okay, because just look at how quickly you get happy again...
you were teething this week, which meant we had some time together in the early morning.  i love when you arch your back and look up at me with those big eyes...
here's what our morning looked like after i tried to comfort you as that tooth made it's way through...

you love your bath time...

and continue to show how proud you are to be from maine...
your adventure with papaw and grandma was filled to the brim with all kinds of good things.  while we were away at a wedding in central new york for three days and two nights, you got to snuggle in bed in the morning...

cuddle with papaw (i adore you expression in this photo)...

play in the shade...
and help papaw take a break from a tiring house project (thanks papaw!)...
play on the floor...
relax in your room...
 go for a hike...
dip your feet in at madeleine point...
 play by the shore...
 admire yourself in the mirror...
give the stare down from your sassy seat in hopes of food...
perform piano concerts for a captive audience...
as i write this on sunday night it feels a little sad to think that we didn't get our normal weekend quality time...and that i'm back to work tomorrow.  booooo.  i'll have to make it up to you in extra snuggling and some nice long walks together after work.  when we arrived home, i couldn't believe how different you looked after just three days.  you had different expressions, your face shape has changed, and you were laughing in a new way.

being away was strange.  i felt like my pre-maeve self, but with a hint of something not quite right.  we enjoyed seeing friends, but missed you greatly.  i loved running upstairs to see you once you'd woken up, just after we got home.

we wondered if you even knew that we were gone...because you were surrounded by so much good care and love.  you are a lucky girl to have four grandparents who love you as they do.

week thirty five, done.  onward to another great summer week. xo.
